Docs working less as flood of new patients looms

Compared to four years ago, doctors are working 6 percent fewer hours and treating 17 percent fewer patients. They’re also increasingly selling their practices to go to work for hospitals or other employers. If the trend continues at the same pace, the United States will lose the equivalent of 44,000 full-time physicians over the next four years … just as PPACA sends millions of newly insured patients into the market.
