In Florida, Medicare is not a senior-only issue

Whether supportive of Obama or Romney, voters are finding common ground on Medicare: neither side believes its benefits will be there for new generations. Traditionally thought of as a “seniors” issue among politicians, Medicare is an increasing concern for younger voters, especially baby boomers, concerned about whether they’ll be able to reap its benefits as well as the program’s impact on the nation’s overall spending. That, coupled with the fact that many swing states are full of worried seniors and boomers, has both presidential candidates watching what they say this election season.
