3in4: Got More Media!

The 3in4 Need More long-term care insurance (LTCI) public awareness campaign has attracted media attention in the Northwest.

In northern California, the Northridge-Chatsworth Patch covered the campaign May 5 in an article with the headline “Talented Granny Hunt Visits Northridge.”

In Oregon, the Oregon Herald published an article Monday announcing, “National Senior Talent Competition Comes To Portland May 11th.”

The 3in4 Association, Kirkland, Wash., has generated those headlines by putting Marion Somers, a well-known geriatric care manager and LTCI advocate, and a bus on the road to promote the idea that Americans need to do a better job of planning for long-term care (LTC) needs.

The group also has put out a press release that has appeared at about 250 media outlets, including the websites of the Business Journal chain and the websites of many radio and television stations.

The association is adding sizzle to the campaign by running a national talent contest for caregivers and seniors. The grand prize will be a year of living rent-free housing in a “senior living” community operated by Emeritus Corp., Seattle (NYSE:ESC).

Emeritus also is helping to sponsor the spring 3in4 bus tour.
