This week in new hires, Matthew Solomon joined the SEC’s enforcement division and John Lindsey went to Securities America.

Also, Alison Salka became director of retirement research at LIMRA and Dave Liebrock joined CAPTRUST’s board of advisors.

Matthew Solomon Named Deputy Chief Litigation Counsel in SEC Enforcement Division

The SEC announced April 12 that Matthew Solomon has been appointed deputy chief litigation counsel of the division of enforcement, where he will assist in the oversight of the Washington headquarters trial unit as well as of trial attorneys in 11 regional offices. He will begin in June and succeeds Mark Adler, who left to serve as deputy chief trial counsel at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Solomon has been a federal prosecutor for more than 10 years, most recently serving as an assistant U.S. attorney in Washington. Since 2010, he has been the chief of the fraud unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Prior to that, he was a federal prosecutor in the public integrity section of the criminal division at the U.S. Department of Justice, and also served as a counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. He began his legal career as a law clerk to Judge James Robertson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and then as a law clerk for Judge Dennis Jacobs of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

John Lindsey Joins Securities America

Securities America announced Tuesday that John Lindsey has joined as a registered representative. He is located in Westlake Village, Calif., and has $100 million in assets under management.

Lindsey began his financial services career in 1996 at Edward Jones. In March he partnered with the Securities America branch office Cooper McManus and founded his own practice, Lindsey & Lindsey Wealth Management.

LIMRA Names Alison Salka Director of Retirement Research

LIMRA announced Monday that Alison Salka has been appointed to corporate vice president and director of its retirement research division, where she will be responsible for the development and execution of retirement research strategy.

Prior to joining LIMRA in 2012, Salka led the retirement research and competitive intelligence team at Prudential Financial Inc. She was also director of retirement research and analytics at MassMutual Financial Group.

CAPTRUST Adds Dave Liebrock to Advisory Board

CAPTRUST announced Monday that Dave Liebrock has joined the firm’s board of advisors. With 30 years of experience, Liebrock was most recently with CAPTRUST as senior vice president/financial advisor.

Prior to that, he spent 16 years at Fidelity Investments where he held a number of senior-level positions, including executive vice president in charge of oversight and management of the advisor 401(k) product. Earlier roles at Fidelity included executive vice president in charge of large plan services and president of Fidelity’s defined contribution business in Europe.
