The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance plans to offer some sessions aimed at long-term care insurance (LTCI) industry veterans at its next big conference.
AALTCI, Westlake Village, Calif., will be starting the conference in Las Vegas Nov. 10.
For experienced agents, the star may be Denise Liston of LifePlans, Waltham, Mass., who will present one study on LTCI claim denials and another study on applicants for LTCI coverage who failed to get coverage.
Dawn Helwig, an actuary in the Chicago office of Milliman Inc., will give another nuts-and-bolts presentation, on the latest LTCI claims data.
Claude Thau of Target Insurance Services, Overland Park, Kan., will talk about contractual definition details, such as the subtleties of terms such as “cash benefits” and “restoration of benefits.”
Other speakers will discuss topics such as the details of how LTCI policyholders really use home care benefits.
