Representatives from AARP and Genworth Financial Inc. (NYSE:GNW) came to New York Wednesday to get attention for a new long-term care (LTC) support services package that AARP will be distributing for Genworth.
Genworth, Richmond, Va., created the package by turning the support services it offers along with long-term care insurance (LTCI) policies — an LTC provider directory, Medicare LTC provider quality ratings, a needs-assessment tool, telephone advice services, and professionals who can visit loved ones in their homes to assess needs and help manage care — into a stand-alone product.
W. Lee Hammond, president of AARP, Washington, gave a sobering talk about the current and future state of caregiving.
