Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s new bill aims to increase transparency in Supreme Court rulings, mandating the use of video cameras in court. It’s an idea that the high court has traditionally shied away from, but Klobuchar argues that the court’s decisions are so impactful that the public deliberation leading up to them should be readily accessible to all Americans. The matter of cameras in the Supreme Court has become especially pertinent given the approaching marathon arguments on Obama’s health care law. At least one news organization, C-SPAN, has already asked the court to allow cameras into the chamber during the  hearing, set for sometime next spring.
