American United Life Insurance Company, a OneAmerica company, has been named the number one 401(k) provider in five key satisfaction categories according to the Boston Research Group’s 2011 Defined Contribution Plan Sponsor Satisfaction and Loyalty Study.

The study is based on a nationwide survey of 1,222 401(k) plan sponsors. Categories in which AUL earned the top overall satisfaction ranking in overall satisfaction with recordkeeper; satisfaction with employee education; satisfaction with relationship manager; satisfaction with plan coordinator; and satisfaction with automated telephone system

Categories in which AUL ranked second or third overall: No. 2 satisfaction with recordkeeping; No. 2 satisfaction with participant statement; No. 2 satisfaction with telephone representatives; No. 3 satisfaction with performance of recordkeeper’s investments; and No. 3 satisfaction with participant website.

“The results of this survey show that we have an ability to make and keep our clients happy,” said Bill Yoerger, senior vice president for the retirement services division of AUL. “Our multitude of top three rankings in this highly respected, independent survey proves that our customers recognize the value that each facet of our organization brings to their businesses.”

In addition to earning more top finishes this year compared to 2010, AUL saw significant increases in many of its satisfaction scores. AUL’s overall satisfaction score rose to 85 percent, satisfaction with relationship managers rose to 89 percent and satisfaction with employee education rose to 84 percent.

Published annually since 2000, the Boston Research Group’s Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) Sponsor Satisfaction and Loyalty Study profiles and compares 401(k) recordkeepers. The survey provides a clear portrait of plan sponsor needs and accurately measures the extent to which these needs are being met by major 401(k) providers. AUL participates in the study for retirement plans with assets under $5 million.
