The Obama administration is about to launch a National Prevention Strategy.
U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will join with Melody Barnes, director of the Domestic Policy Council at the White House, and Surgeon General Regina Benjamin to hold a press conference announcing the strategy at 11 a.m. EDT in Washington.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA) requires the government to develop a prevention strategy, to outline the ways that “public and private partners can help Americans stay healthy and fit and improve our nation’s prosperity,” officials say.
