The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has changed the name of the Securities Valuation Office (SVO) to the Capital Markets and Investment Analysis Office.
The new name for the New York-based office reflects expansion of the services the office offers, according to the NAIC, Kansas City, Mo.
“The Capital Markets and Investment Analysis Office will take on an increased role in assisting states to monitor investment risk,” NAIC Chief Executive Officer Therese Vaughan says in a statement about the changes. “It will also serve as a center of expertise to help federal policymakers understand the interaction between the insurance sector and the broader capital markets.”
The office will publish insurance industry financial performance reports based on insurer statutory filings, to help the public track insurance industry trends, officials say.
