The Lone Star State has selected a dental benefits provider for public employees.
The Employee Retirement System of Texas will be getting preferred provider organization and health maintenance organization coverage from HumanaDental Insurance Company, a unit of Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky.
The system has about 500,000 public employees, retirees and dependents who are eligible for group benefits programs, and about 400,000 are enrolled in dental plans, Humana says.
The Texas contract started Sept. 1 and will run until Aug. 31, 2013.
The individual deductible is $100 per calendar year.
The annual maximum for the preferred provider plan is $1,500.
