The Internal Revenue Service is encouraging business taxpayers and business associations to submit tax concerns to the the Industry Issue Resolution program.

The program helps businesses and business groups get guidance from the IRS on how to handle common tax headaches.

In 2004, for example, the IRS issued guidance on how doctors should account for health insurance quality incentive payments as a result of a request submitted through the IIR program, officials say.

Submissions are due Aug. 31.

More information about the submission process is available here.
