An insurer that has been expanding its benefits operations has unveiled a new health portal system.

Nationwide Better Health, a unit of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Columbus, Ohio, says client employers can offer the new health portal system either through their own intranets or by asking benefit plan members to visit an outside Web site.

The system distributes health and wellness information, and it gives employees and other plan members the ability to sign up for a variety of wellness and condition management programs, such as weight management programs and smoking cessation programs.
