Firms that say they want to create a vehicle that will represent employers, community leaders, doctors and hospitals have formed FAIR , a group that will do battle with health insurers.

FAIR, Los Angeles, will “provide a unified voice of concern” for those who are “troubled by a historical pattern of inadequate reimbursement and lack of financial transparency by the nation’s largest health insurers,” FAIR organizers say.

The organizers note in the mission statement section on the group’s Web site that FAIR was founded by Jarrard Phillips Cates & Hancock, Inc., Brentwood, Tenn., a public relations firm, and DAVIES Communications, Santa Barbara, Calif.

The first 2 signed entries on the group’s blog come from Clint Hailey, a senior vice president at Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas.
