Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has started selling the SmartSense family of health insurance policies in Nevada.

Anthem, a unit of WellPoint Inc., Indianapolis, says the SmartSense plans offer access to a network of 6,500 doctors in Nevada and also offer access to the Blue Shield and Blue Cross system’s national Blue Card network.

Deductibles start at $500, and premiums can start as low as $33 per month for a healthy 25-year-old male, Anthem says.

The plans cover 3 doctor visits per person per year with a $30 co-payment before the deductible is met, and they cover doctor visits with a 30% coinsurance rate after the deductible is met.

The plans pay a maximum of $7 million in lifetime benefits.

The plans come with a choice of comprehensive drug benefits or generic-only drug benefits.
