Insurer Hit By Ike Starts Charity For Workers

American National Insurance Company has set up a relief fund to help employees affected by Hurricane Ike.

American National, Galveston, Texas, a multiline carrier that is the parent of companies such as American National Life Insurance Company of Texas and Standard Life and Accident Insurance Company, has had to move some headquarters operations out of Galveston temporarily as a result of the damage Ike did to Galveston.

Initial assessments indicated that Ike did not do much damage to American National’s offices in Galveston.

But, to help company workers, the company has established the American National Family Relief Fund.

“All proceeds will be used as part of the Anico Assist program to provide emergency relief for American National Employees,” American National says. “All donations are welcome!”
