Delta Dental Insurance Company is giving small and midsize Florida businesses the first look at a pair of new group dental “value plans.”

Delta Dental, a unit of Dentegra Group Inc., San Francisco, says the Delta Dental PPO program and the DeltaCare USA prepaid program are aimed at employers with 5 to 299 employees.

The new plans can be offered on an employee-paid or employer-paid basis, or through the use of a combination of payments from employers and employees.

The new plans are designed to cost less than other plans Delta Dental offers in Florida, the company says.

One new feature permits an employee to opt out of the plan but still buy child-only coverage, Delta Dental says.

Delta Dental wants to offer the plans in more states in the near future, the company says.

The deductible for the PPO plan is $50 and the maximum is $500.

The prepaid plan has no annual maximum or deductible. Participants in that plan must select a network dentist for treatment, Delta Dental says.
