The New York Stock Exchange is giving Penn Treaty American Corp. until April 2 to file a Form 10-K annual report for 2006, the company says.

“The company’s filing is contingent upon the finalization of its actuarial testing and the determination of the impact, if any, of this testing upon the company’s financial results,” Penn Treaty, Allentown, Pa., says in the extension announcement. “NYSE rules for continued listing of the company’s common stock will not allow any extension beyond April 2, 2008.”

Penn Treaty is an active seller of long term care insurance market and is one of the creators of the U.S. LTC insurance market.
