Pension Disability Mortality Table May Get Update

The Internal Revenue Service is thinking about developing new mortality tables for pension plan participants who are collecting benefits because of disability.

The IRS wants to get suggestions about sources of data and ideas about whether mortality rates should reflect a disabled individual’s age and the number of years that the individual has been disabled, according to IRS Notice 2009-29.
