Haier New York Life is opening a branch in Wuhan in China’s Hubei province.

Haier New York Life, Shanghai, began operating in China in 2002.

Wuhan has a population of about 9 million, according to New York Life Insurance Company, New York.

New York Life worked to form Haier New York together with the Haier Group, Qingdao.

The Wuhan branch is the first Chinese-U.S. life joint venture with a license to operate in Wuhan, New York Life says.
