The National Business Group on Health is trying to rally employers to help improve the quality of care for benefit plans’ smallest dependents.

The NBGH, Washington, a group that represents large employers, has developed a maternal and child health toolkit for employers.

The toolkit includes data on the cost of maternal and child health services; arguments for investing in child and adolescent health, and in healthy pregnancies; and educational materials for employees.

Maternal and child health care services account for about $1 out of every $5 large employers spend on health care, the NBGH reports.
