Insurance regulators in a Southwestern state are seeing what they believe to be a flurry of solicitations for phony medical coverage.

The Arizona Insurance Department says employers in the state are getting faxes advertising what appears to be fake health coverage costing as little as $173 per month per family.

Insurance regulators in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Texas have detected similar fax marketing programs, which market coverage from unlicensed entities such as Affinity Health Plans of America and the National Trade Business Association.
