Alliances: Assist America, Humana

PacificSource Health Plans has agreed to get global emergency assistance services for plan members from Assist America Inc.

PacificSource, Springfield, Ore., provides or administers health coverage for 151,000 people in the Pacific Northwest.

Assist America, Princeton, N.J., provides services such as medical referrals, emergency medical evacuations and companion transport for insurance plan members who become ill or injured while traveling in another country, or while traveling 100 miles or more away from home.

In other alliance news, Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., has agreed to use health account bank card services from Republic Bancorp Inc., Louisville.

The new HumanaAdvance Visa Card program will offer a 0% interest rate for participants who pay for purchases using a payroll deduction system developed by E-Duction Inc., Blue Bell, Pa., Humana says.
