Members of the Society of Actuaries have elected Cecil Bykerk to be president for the 2008-2009 term.
Bykerk will serve as president-elect of the SOA, Schaumburg, Ill., until October 2008, when the society holds its annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., according to the SOA.
Bykerk is president of CDBykerk Consulting L.L.C., Omaha, Neb., and the executive director for 3 insurance pools in Alaska, Iowa and Montana that cover individuals with health problems.
Bykerk is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He also holds the Registered Health Underwriter and Fellow of the Life Management Institute professional designations.
