James Rogers has succeeded Philip Harriman as president of the Million Dollar Roundtable executive committee for 2007-2008.

MDRT, Park Ridge, Ill., is a group for top life insurance agents.

Rogers, who has been a MDRT member for 34 years, is chair of Rogers Group Financial, Vancouver, British Columbia, an independent financial advisory and investment counseling firm.

Rogers says he wants to use his time in office to ensure that “MDRT represents professionals who are at the top of the industry in their respective countries,” support formal education, redesign the MDRT Web site, and continue the MDRT Boomertirement program.

Rogers holds the Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Financial Planner professional designations. He first joined the MDRT executive committee as secretary in 2002.

Rogers is only the second Canadian to serve as president of MDRT, the group says.

Rogers also is a past chair of the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Toronto.

Other members of the MDRT executive committee will include Harriman, MDRT’s immediate past president; Walton Rogers, first vice president; Guy Baker, second vice president; and Julian Good Jr., secretary.
