A health insurer says it has simplified the process of applying for fully underwritten major medical insurance.

Assurant Health, Milwaukee, a unit of Assurant Inc., New York, says its ExpressYes individual medical insurance application system relies on a relatively short, 17-question questionnaire and an automated service that can approve many applicants immediately.

Assurant Health can process most other applications in less than 2 days, the company says.

Assurant Health says it will offer the program in every jurisdiction, other than Oregon, in which it sells individual medical insurance.
