A company that sells life and health insurance through the Web and direct marketing programs has acquired a company that sells non-insurance health care programs through call centers.

EBenefits Direct Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., says it hopes completion of efforts to buy L.A. Marketing Plans L.L.C., Boca Raton, a seller of health discount programs, will help it generate about $1.4 million in net revenue during fiscal year 2007.

The deal also could increase total company program membership to 64,000, from 56,000 today, eBenefits says.
