Securian Dental has started selling preferred provider organization and indemnity dental coverage in Alabama.

Securian Dental, Eagan, Minn., a unit of Minnesota Mutual Insurance Company, St. Paul, Minn., is offering coverage to employers with at least 2 employees.

Employers can pay for part or all of the coverage or have employees pay the entire bill.

Employers also can choose between insured and self-insured, or administrative services only programs, according to Securian Dental.

Orthodontic coverage is available with most plans, and all plans immediately cover 100% of diagnostic and preventive services, Securian Dental says.

Employees enrolled in the employer-paid plans can get treatment for cavities and other dental health problems without going through a waiting period.
