Longer retirements by many Americans have inspired Nationwide Financial Services Inc. to introduce some new investment options to its variable product line.

Nationwide, Columbus, Ohio, says it will add variable life and annuity products on May 1 that update its asset allocation models to suit investors who plan to enjoy long, active retirements.

The company is adding 9 new funds as investment options, including an asset allocation fund, a bond fund, a growth fund and several global funds.

The additional investment options will be offered for both new and established variable products, the company says.
