Personnel Changes: WellPoint, Russell, Securian

WellPoint Inc. has promoted Linda Pollnow to general manager of state-sponsored business.

Pollnow now is responsible for national field operations, network development, and management of contracts in California and West Virginia.

Pollnow previously was vice president for the “physician and hospital interface” at WellPoint, the company says.

Pollnow has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.

In other personnel news:

- Frank Russell Company, Tacoma, Wash., has hired Doug Byrkit and Graham Seagraves to be institutional defined contribution regional sales directors.

Byrkit will be based in Tacoma and serve retirement services customers in the Western region.

Seagraves will be based in Charlotte, N.C., and serve the Eastern region.

Byrkit previously was director of U.S. sales and marketing at a unit of Mellon Financial Corp., Pittsburgh.

Seagraves was a regional sales director for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states at the institutional asset management arm of OppenheimerFunds Inc., New York.

- The individual annuity operation at Securian Financial Group Inc., a unit of Minnesota Mutual Cos. Inc., St. Paul, Minn., has hired Lance Cannon to be national account sales vice president and Don Sundt to be national account manager.

Cannon previously was a manager at Linsco/Private Ledger Corp., San Diego.

Sundt was a regional sales director at an annuity manufacturer affiliated with Ameriprise Financial Inc., Minneapolis.
