HealthAmerica Pennsylvania Inc. has hired Timothy Schmid to be director of broker relations.
Schmid also will be broker relations director for the company’s HealthAssurance unit, according to HealthAmerica, Pittsburgh.
HealthAmerica and HealthAssurance provide or administer health coverage for 720,000 individuals in Pennsylvania and Ohio. They are part of Coventry Health Care Inc., Bethesda, Md.
Schmid previously was a regional sales director for the region that includes Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia at American Medical Security Inc., Green Bay, Wis., a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn.
Schmid has a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in business from Robert Morris University.
