The National Business Group on Health is turning to a food service company that feeds the Marines to develop a cafeteria wellness program for employers.

The NBGH, Washington, says Sodexho Inc., Gaithersburg, Md., has helped it create a toolkit that can help employers improve on-site dining programs.

The toolkit includes healthy eating brochures for workers; questionnaires that employers can use to assess cafeterias, vending machines and catering programs; a training guide to help food service managers teach cafeteria workers about nutrition; and sample “request for proposal” and contract negotiation guidelines, to help managers hire nutrition-conscious food service providers.
