Towers Perrin Inc. has promoted Duncan Briggs to region manager for the Americas at its Tillinghast actuarial consulting unit.
Briggs, who will continue to be a consultant focusing on issues related to securitizations, mergers and acquisitions, succeeds Eric Speer, who is now East Region of the human resources services business at Towers Perrin, according to executives in the Stamford, Conn., office of Towers Perrin.
Briggs worked in the life insurance industry in the United Kingdom before joining Tillinghast. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematical physics from the University of Edinburgh. He is a Fellow of the United Kingdom’s Institute of Actuaries.
