CIGNA HealthCare is forming the CareAllies unit to give health plan members help with managing medical care and improving their health.[@@]
CIGNA HealthCare, Bloomfield, Conn., an arm of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, says the CareAllies unit will market new services as well as other health management services already supplied by CIGNA.
In addition to established services such as a 24-hour "nurseline," the unit will provide a telephone-based health coaching program for health plan members who appear to be at risk for future health problems; a disease management program for members with chronic conditions, such as diabetes; lifestyle programs to help members tackle with issues such as obesity; and a Personal Health Solutions program that will help patients with complicated or catastrophic medical conditions.
