TriZetto Group Inc. is developing software and support services for companies that will be selling the new Medicare Part D drug plans.[@@]
TriZetto will be handling all Part D administrative services for some insurers, through a new Medicare Part D FastTrak service, and it will release Medicare Part D software for insurers that want to handle administration themselves, according to TriZetto, Newport Beach, Calif.
One new component of the administration software will be a separate system for handling appeals. The system will meet tough federal appeal-tracking requirements, TriZetto says.
TriZetto says its 23 Medicare plan customers already use TriZetto software and services to process medical transactions for 16% of Medicare managed care plan members.
