WILTON, Conn. (HedgeWorld.com)–David J. Scarozza is joining Commonfund Asset Management Company as managing director in marketable alternative strategies, the unit responsible for manager selection, portfolio strategy and construction, and due diligence.

He will report to Nicholas De Monico, head of marketable alternative strategies. Previously, Mr. Scarozza was vice president and manager analyst for CitiGroup. Before that, he was hedge fund analyst and member of the investment committee at Longchamp Group, New York.

Lyn Hutton, Commonfund chief investment officer, said Mr. Scarozza’s years of hedge fund experience will be an asset in meeting the needs of clients–”As allocations to marketable alternative strategies have increased among our clients, we need top people like David to maintain oversight of our portfolios and strategic direction.”

Commonfund manages about US$30 billion in assets for school endowments and foundations and other non-profit institutions. It runs a variety of investment programs.
