DARIEN, Conn. (HedgeWorld.com)–Tim Barron, former director of research at investment consultant CRA RogersCasey Inc., has been named president and chief executive of the firm.

Mr. Barron replaces Kevin R. Greene, who left the firm to pursue other business opportunities, according to a statement from CRA RogersCasey. CRA RogersCasey officials did not return a phone call by press time seeking more information on Mr. Greene’s departure.

In a statement, Mr. Barron praised Mr. Greene’s leadership and vision.

Mr. Greene said Mr. Barron is well suited to taking over leadership of CRA RogersCasey. “Over the years we have built a very powerful and market-leading investment consulting platform based on deep research capabilities to find world-class investment opportunities, the independence to be objective and the flexibility to meet our clients’ needs,” Mr. Greene said in a statement. “Tim’s diverse experiences make him an ideal match for this model.”

In addition to promoting Mr. Barron, CRA RogersCasey officials announced a number of other management changes. John Dixon was named senior managing director of the firm. His responsibilities will extend to management as well as consulting, according to a statement.

Joe O’Reilly, managing director in CRA RogersCasey’s Boston office, has been named chairman of a newly created Consulting Steering Committee.

The firm has made several changes to replace Mr. Barron in the research department, even though he will continue to shape “strategic direction” there, according to a statement from the firm. Alan Dorsey, managing director and head of hedge fund research, will take on management responsibility for private equity and real estate in a new position, director of non-traditional research.

Soonyong Park, managing director and head of U.S. equity research, will become Director of Traditional Manager Research. Her duties will now include oversight for international equity and fixed income.

And Cynthia Parker has been named chief research strategist, a new position.
