Georgia Company Joins HealthMarket Network

NU Online News Service, May 18, 2004, 10:44 a.m. EDT – HealthMarket Inc., Norwalk, Conn., a pioneer in the account-based health plan market, has added a major southeastern health care organization to its provider network.[@@]

St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System Inc., Savannah, Ga., will be opening its hospitals and its large physician network to HealthMarket members. The deal will help HealthMarket offer account-based health plans to small and midsize employers in the Savannah market, HealthMarket says.

HealthMarket hopes to negotiate similar deals in other small cities.

HealthMarket has helped introduce U.S. employers to the concept of using personal health accounts to encourage members of group health plans to shop carefully for care.
