Blues Start Anti-Fraud Strike Force

NU Online News Service, April 20, 2004, 4:42 p.m. EDT – The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Chicago, has set up an Anti-Fraud Strike Force.[@@]

The strike force, which will include top Blue Cross and Blue Shield company investigators, will work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the inspector general at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other law enforcement agencies to fight major insurance fraud schemes.

The strike force also will publish an annual consumer guide to health care fraud.

Byron Hollis and Greg Anderson, the co-chairmen of the Blues’ existing National Anti-Fraud Advisory Board, will be the co-chairmen of the new strike force.

Hollis is the Blues’ national anti-fraud director.

Anderson is vice president of corporate and financial investigations at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, Detroit, Mich.
