NU Online News Service, March 12, 2004, 12:11 p.m. EST – Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, has named Francine Parker senior vice president of insurance and purchaser relations and president of its Health Alliance Plan unit.[@@]

The alliance plan is the biggest health carrier in southeast Michigan. It provides or administers health coverage for 2,800 employer groups and 540,000 plan members.

Parker, who previously was chief operating officer of the alliance plan, succeeds Cleve Killingsworth Jr., who left in 2003 to become president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Boston.

Parker began working for the alliance plan in 1978, when the plan had only 14 employees. She has a bachelor’s degree in business from Sienna Heights University.
