NU Online News Service, Feb. 12, 2004, 12:05 p.m. EST – Oxford Health Plans Inc., Trumbull, Conn., wants to sell defined contribution health plans to small and midsize employers in the New York area.[@@]

The company has introduced the Oxford MyPlan plan, a plan aimed at businesses in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

Oxford has designed the plans to combine high-deductible preferred provider coverage with employer-funded health reimbursement arrangements. Employees can use HRA funds to cover the deductibles and other out-of-pocket expenses.

Although the insurance coverage has a high deductible for treatment-related expenses, the plan covers 100% of the cost of immunizations, health screenings, wellness visits and other preventive services supplied by in-network providers.

The plan also includes access to a variety of health information tools, including a 24-hour health guidance line.
