NU Online News Service, Oct. 7, 2003, 10:37 a.m. EST – The Health Insurance Association of America, Washington, and the American Association of Health Plans, Washington, say they will offer the 10 professional designations that HIAA now offers after they complete their proposed merger.
Member plans will vote on the merger in November.
HIAA awards the Health Insurance Associate, Managed Healthcare Professional, Health Care Anti-Fraud Associate, Long-Term Care Professional, Disability Income Associate, Disability Healthcare Professional, HIPAA Associate, HIPAA Professional, Healthcare Customer Service Associate and Medical Management Associate designations.
The combined organization also will give students access to the Certified Senior Advisor program, HIAA and AAHP say.
