NU Online News Service, Aug. 20, 2003, 12:59 p.m. EDT – Most U.S. residents say they would accept a job with a lower salary in exchange for health benefits, according to a survey conducted by researchers at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, N.Y.
When researchers interviewed 865 adults in July and August, they found that 71% said they would rather take a job with a low salary and health benefits than a job with a high salary and no benefits. Only 24% of the participants said they would prefer to take a job with a higher salary and no health benefits.
