NU Online News Service, May 2, 2003, 5:41 p.m. EDT – The Massachusetts Division of Banks and Division of Insurance have scheduled a joint public hearing in Boston May 19 on a proposal to authorize credit unions to sell insurance.

The proposed rule would extend each agency’s insurance authority to cover credit unions as well as banks, the divisions say in a joint statement.
