OptiCare To Sell Vision Plans Directly To Employers

NU Online News Service, Feb. 24, 11:52 a.m. – OptiCare Health Systems Inc., Waterbury, Conn., will be selling vision benefit plans directly to employers and other large groups.

In the past, OptiCare ran vision plans for health insurers and managed care companies.

OptiCare now will administer vision plans for self-insured employer groups, and it will provide insured coverage for other plans through an alliance with Fidelity Security Life Insurance Company, Kansas City, Mo.

OptiCare will also run visions plans that are part of employee-funded “Section 125″ programs.
