NU Online News Service, Feb. 4, 4:25 p.m. – The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Falls Church, Va., has set up a system that will help its members apply for non-resident insurance licenses online.

Members can reach the applications for 14 states through the NAIFA Web site, at http://www.naifa.org

Agents need non-resident licenses to sell insurance outside their home states. NAIFA members with an active insurance license in any state will be able to complete the online application for non-resident licensing in the following states: Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

The online forms are supplied by the National Insurance Producer Registry, a nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Kansas City, Mo. The NIPR is currently working on adding additional states to the system.

NAIFA represents 73,000 life and health insurance agents and financial advisors.
