July 23, 2002 — The Vanguard Group plans to offer three exchange-traded funds that invest in foreign stocks.

The company is seeking SEC approval to introduce exchange-traded versions of Vanguard European Stock Index (VEURX), Vanguard Pacific Stock Index (VPACX) and Vanguard Emerging Markets Stock Index (VEIEX).

The products would be Vanguard’s first international exchange-traded funds. These funds are baskets of stocks designed to mirror an index while trading like a stock on an exchange.
