NU Online News Service, Feb. 27, 11:47 a.m. – Aetna Inc., Hartford, is re-organizing its group insurance division in sections based on the size of the customers served.

Plans sponsors with fewer than 50 eligible employees will now be assigned to a small group business section; 50 to 3,000 eligible employees, to a select and key accounts section; and 3,000 or more eligible employees, to a national accounts section.

Previously, Aetna organized sections based on the types of products sold, rather than the size of the employers targeted, the company says.

Aetna has also hired Dong Ahn, a benefits executive from Hartford Financial Services Inc., Hartford, to be executive director of the group insurance unit.
