NU Online News Service, Dec. 28, 11:09 a.m. – The Axess Media Group Ltd., Las Vegas, is now marketing Health Vault by nVault, a Web-based medical record storage system.

Doctors and hospitals can use the system to put patient medical records on the Web for $5 per month for each 100 megabytes of data. Patients can use the system to read their own records, or share records with organizations such as insurance companies, Axxess says.

Axxess is promoting the system as a tool for complying with a section of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 that requires health care providers to give patients access to their medical records.

EnterVault Inc., Salt Lake City, a subsidiary of Zions Bancorp., developed the system and still runs it, Axxess says.
