NU Online News Service, June 22, 10:15 a.m. – The Health Insurance Association of America, Washington, is recruiting students for the summer semester of its Insurance Education Program.
The program offers 10 independent study courses that lead to the Health Insurance Associate and Managed Healthcare Professional designations.
Students who take the courses over the summer must take their tests on the Internet. Students who enroll in the fall can take their exams on paper.
More than 20,000 students took HIAA classes in 2000, HIAA says.
So far, 17,000 students have earned the HIA designation, and 4,500 have earned the MHP designation.
